Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour plus more if needed
  • 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 6 tablespoons PLAIN yogurt
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Combine yeast, sugar, and warm water in a bowl. Let sit until frothy, about 5 minutes.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix 1 cup flour and salt. Add the frothy yeast mixture, olive oil, yogurt, and egg. Stir to combine.
  3. Gradually add remaining 1 1/2 cups flour until a soft dough forms. If the mixture is too wet, you can add up to 1/3 cup more flour until the dough is easier to work with.
  4. Turn dough onto a floured surface and knead until smooth, about 3 minutes.
  5. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise until doubled, about 1 hour.
  6. Divide dough into 8 pieces, roll each into a ball, then flatten into discs. Cook in a hot skillet until bubbles form, flip and cook until golden.
