No-Bake Peppermint Oreo Blossoms

No-Bake Peppermint Oreo Blossoms are the perfect combination of a rich, crunchy chocolatey base and chocolate peppermint topping.

Ingredients

  • 26 Oreo cookies , crushed into crumbs (1 package)
  • 6 ounces cream cheese , softened
  • 2 cups chocolate chips 12 ounces, semi-sweet
  • 1 tablespoon shortening
  • 1/4 teaspoon mint extract
  • 15 peppermint kisses striped
  • Sprinkles optional, Christmas

Instructions

  1. Whisk together Oreo cookie crumbs and cream cheese until well combined.
  2. Scoop 2 tablespoon sized scoops (using a cookie scoop) onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  3. Dip the bottom of a water glass in powdered sugar then flatten the scoops into circles about 1/2 inch thick.
  4. Freeze 1 hour.
  5. In a large glass bowl add the chocolate chips and shortening and microwave in 30 second increments.
  6. Stir and microwave until smooth then stir in the mint extract.
  7. Dip the cookie discs in the melted chocolate with a fork, tap the excess chocolate off and place back on parchment paper.
  8. Top with striped chocolate kiss and sprinkles.
