Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 4 cups strawberry hulled and halved, fresh
  • 1 pie crust pre-baked, 9-inch
  • Whipped Cream optional, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the strawberry filling by combining sugar, cornstarch, water, and lemon juice in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the mixture thickens and becomes clear.
  2. Remove the saucepan from heat and gently fold in the fresh strawberries until they are evenly coated with the glaze.
  3. Pour the strawberry mixture into the pre-baked pie crust, spreading evenly. Refrigerate for at least 3 hours to set.
  4. Once set, garnish with whipped cream if desired, and serve chilled.
