Nuoc Cham Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1-2 Thai chili thinly sliced adjust to your spice level
  • 1 ½ tablespoon white sugar
  • ½ cup hot water
  • 1 ½ tablespoon fish sauce
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar

Instructions

  1. In a mortar & pestle, grind the garlic & chili until they’re broken down.
  2. Add the sugar & continue to break down the garlic and chilies until it’s a rough paste.
  3. Combine with hot water & stir until sugar is dissolved. Cover & chill in the fridge for at least 20 minutes or until ready to serve. Enjoy!

Notes

  • If you don’t have a mortar & pestle, mince the garlic & thinly slice the Thai chilies. Combine them with sugar, then follow the directions noted above.
