Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup rolled oats old-fashioned
  • 1 cup water or milk
  • Pinch salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon optional
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup optional, or honey
  • Fruit optional, toppings, fresh fruits

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Combine oats, water or milk, and a pinch of salt in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil.
  2. Reduce heat to low and simmer, uncovered, stirring occasionally, until the oats are soft and have absorbed most of the liquid, about 5 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat. Stir in cinnamon and maple syrup or honey, if using. Serve hot with your choice of toppings.
