Olive Garden Shrimp Alfredo

Olive Garden Shrimp Alfredo is a pasta dish combining sautéed medium shrimp with a creamy Alfredo sauce made from heavy cream, butter, and Parmesan cheese. The sauce is enriched with garlic and optionally garlic powder, enveloping tender fettuccine pasta for a rich, comforting meal. The shrimp are cooked until just pink to maintain juiciness.

Ingredients

Shrimp
  • 12 ounces Shrimp medium-sized, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper ground
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic chopped
Pasta
  • 12 ounces Fettuccine pasta dry
Alfredo Sauce
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 4 ounces butter
  • 3/4 cup Parmesan Cheese grated
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder optional

Instructions

Pasta Directions
    Cup of Yum
  1. Salt water for pasta in a large pot, and bring to a boil.
  2. Cook pasta for the time recommended on the pasta.
Shrimp Directions
  1. Season shrimp with salt and black pepper.
  2. Saute shrimp by adding butter to a pan over medium heat. When the pan is hot add chopped garlic and saute for about 30 seconds.
  3. Saute shrimp on each side for about 2 to 3 minutes. The shrimp should be pink.
Alfredo Sauce Directions
  1. Prepare the Alfredo sauce by combining the cream and butter in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Do not let the mixture come to a boil, but heat until small bubbles begin to form.
  2.  Add the Parmesan cheese and whisk quickly. Add the garlic powder and continue to whisk.
Serving the Shirmp Alfredo
  1. Place cooked pasta into a large bowl.  Add cooked shrimp and alfredo sauce.  Toss together.   Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Cook pasta just to al dente; residual heat will finish cooking after mixing.
  • Cook shrimp until just pink to avoid rubbery texture.
  • Use freshly grated Parmesan cheese for best sauce flavor and consistency.
  • If the Alfredo sauce is too thin, add cream cheese gradually to thicken.
