Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup butter or margarine
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup bittersweet chocolate chips + 1/4 cup for decoration

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. In a large bowl, mix butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla, and combine well.
  4. Add flour, baking soda, and salt. Stir until just combined.
  5. Fold in 1 cup of chocolate chips.
  6. Scoop dough using an ice scream scoop onto prepared baking sheets, spacing 2 inches apart. I like to add 6 cookies per baking sheet only. Optionally, add a few extra chocolate chips on top of each cookie for decoration.
  7. Chill the cookie dough balls in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes or in your fridge for 10 minutes.
  8. Bake for 12 minutes, or, until edges are lightly golden. Centers will look slightly underbaked but will set as they cool.
  9. Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
