Ingredients
- ½ pound flank steak
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon rice wine vinegar
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- ½ teaspoon sesame oil
- ¼ cup orange juice
- ¾ cup orange marmalade
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- sesame seeds for garnish
- green onion for garnish
Instructions
- Thinly slice the ½ pound flank steakacross the grain in about 2-inch strips. Place the sliced steak into a bowl with 2 tablespoons cornstarch. Toss to coat all the steak evenly.
- In a separate bowl, add 1 teaspoon rice wine vinegar, 2 tablespoons soy sauce, ½ teaspoon sesame oil, ¼ cup orange juice, ¾ cup orange marmalade, 1 tablespoon brown sugar, 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes, ½ teaspoon salt, and 1 teaspoon black pepper. Whisk to combine.
- Heat 1 tablespoon vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add in the cornstarch-coated steak and cook until the steak is evenly browned on the outside, about 5-8 minutes.
- To the skillet, add the orange sauce mixture. Continue to cook the steak in the orange sauce, stirring continually until the sauce has begun to thicken.
- Once the steak is fully cooked and your sauce is the desired thickness, about 8-10 minutes. Remove the skillet from heat.
- Serve the orange beef over rice or noodles, garnish with sesame seeds and green onion, and enjoy!
