Ingredients
- 36 Oreo cookies*
- 8 oz cream cheese softened
- About 12 oz chocolate or white chocolate melting wafers or a mix of both
Instructions
- Place the Oreos in a food processor or blender. (No need to remove the cream!) Process until you have fine crumbs.
- Place the cream cheese in a large bowl and beat with a hand mixer until light and creamy. Add the Oreo crumbs and stir together with a spatula until completely combined.
- Using a 1-tablespoon cookie scoop, form the mixture into even balls and place on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper. Place the balls in the freezer for at least 15 minutes.
- Heat the melting wafers according to the package directions. Remove the Oreo balls from the freezer. Working with one at at time, dip in the chocolate, letting any excess chocolate drip off before placing back on the parchment paper. If adding crumbs or any toppings, add the toppings before the chocolate sets up.
- Continue with the remaining balls and the remaining chocolate. Once finished, transfer the Oreo balls to the refrigerator to set up completely.
- Once set up, store in a covered container in the refrigerator.

Notes
- *I like to buy a family size package of Oreos. Since the size of the packages seem to be shrinking, it’s better to pick up a bigger package to make sure you have enough Oreos. I also like to have an extra cookie to crush to add to the outside of some of the balls.
- I prefer using chocolate melts for these. They melt easily, and makes dipping the balls much easier than melting actual chocolate. If you do want to use chocolate, add about 1/2 teaspoon of vegetable oil or coconut oil.
- If you are adding crumbs to the top of the truffle, make sure to sprinkle them on right after dipping the chocolate. The chocolate will set up and harden pretty quickly, so you have to work quickly as well!
