Oven Baked Onion Rings with Cumin Dipping Sauce

Ingredients
- 1 in yellow onion 1 large, peeled and cut in rounds 1/2 inch thick yellow onion
- 0.5 cup all-purpose flour 1/2 cup unbleached all purpose flour, unbleached
- 0.5 tsp paprika 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 0.125 tsp salt 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 0.125 tsp black pepper 1/8 teaspoon ground pepper, ground
- 0.5 tsp cumin 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin, ground
- 0.5 tsp ground coriander 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1 cup heavy cream 1 cup heavy cream
- 0.5 tsp corn starch 1/2 teaspoon corn starch
- 2 tbsps mayonnaise 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 0.5 cup sour cream 1/2 cup sour cream
- 0.25 tsp ground coriander 1/4 teaspoon ground coriander
- 0.5 tsp cumin 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin, ground
- Tabasco sauce splash of tabasco
- 1 tbsp lemon juice 1 tablespoons lemon juice
Instructions
- Preheat oven at 400º. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
- Prepare the dipping sauce using all the ingredients above: mayo, sour cream, coriander, cumin, lemon juice, tabasco, salt and pepper. Mix well and place in the refrigerator until ready to use.
- Dip the onion rings into the heavy cream and roll them well into the flour mixture. Shake any excess flour and place the onion rings on the cookie sheet. Lower the oven temperature to 375º. Bake turning once, for about 20 minutes or golden brown.
- Serve alongside dipping sauce.
