Panko Breadcrumb Topping

How to make a crispy, buttery Panko breadcrumb topping for your mac and cheese and other oven-baked casseroles.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup panko crumbs
  • 3 tablespoons salted butter melted
Optional Add-Ins
  • ½ cup shredded Parmesan cheese
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon parsley

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the Panko and any chosen spices if desired.
  2. Once mixed, pour the butter on top of the Panko mixture and mix gently until well combined.
  3. Use as a crispy topping on top of casseroles and mac and cheese. Top the casserole with the Panko then bake until crispy on top, usually around 20 minutes or so.

Notes

  • Feel free to add other seasonings to this!
