Ingredients

  • 4 boneless pork chops about 1-inch thick
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup Italian-style breadcrumbs or panko for extra crunch
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil for pan-frying
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoon milk

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or grease lightly.
  2. Prepare the coating: In a shallow bowl, mix the Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Prepare the egg wash: In another bowl, whisk together the egg and milk.
  4. Coat the pork chops:
  5. Dip each pork chop into the egg wash, allowing any excess to drip off.
  6. Dredge the pork chop in the Parmesan breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to ensure even coating.
  7. Sear the pork chops: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sear the pork chops for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  8. Bake the pork chops: Transfer the pork chops to the prepared baking sheet and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).
  9. Rest and serve: Let the pork chops rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a fresh salad.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, use panko breadcrumbs instead of traditional breadcrumbs.
  • If you prefer a pan-fried version, cook the pork chops over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes per side until fully cooked.
  • Add a squeeze of lemon juice over the pork chops before serving for extra flavor.
  • You can substitute pork with chicken breasts for a delicious variation.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven to maintain crispiness.
