Passionfruit martini
The Passionfruit Martini features fresh passionfruit juice mixed with vodka, passionfruit liqueur, apple juice, lemon juice, and passionfruit syrup. Shaken with ice and strained, it's a tangy, tropical cocktail with a balance of sweetness and citrus. Optional egg white adds a silky texture. A thin passionfruit slice garnishes the glass, presenting a vibrant and refreshing drink.
Ingredients
- 3 passion fruit
- 50 ml apple juice clear pressed
- 50 ml vodka
- 30 ml passionfruit liqueur such as Passoa (see recipe notes)
- 1 tbsp lemon juice or more to taste, fresh
- 1 tbsp passionfruit syrup or to taste, Monin brand
- ½ tbsp egg optional, liquid white
Instructions
- Fill your martini glass with ice.
- Halve the passionfruit. Slice one thin sliver and set aside. Scoop the rest out the flesh / seeds into a small sieve. Press at the pulp with the back of the spoon and extract the juice (into your cocktail shaker).
- Add all the remaining ingredients and fill the shaker with ice. Shake vigorously until frost forms on the outside of the shaker.
- Discard the ice from the martini glass. Strain the cocktail into the glass. Decorate with a fine slice of passionfruit.
Notes
- Passionfruit liqueur options include Passoa, Edmond Briottet Fruits de la Passion, or Bols Passionfruit liqueur.
- For passionfruit purée, Funkin Pro is good for bulk use but must be used within 8 days after opening; Monin's has a longer shelf life of about 4 weeks.
- Monin passionfruit syrup or homemade syrup works well for sweetening the cocktail; store and use within recommended shelf life after opening.
