Mix it up with this delicious and easy-to-make pear martini recipe. It uses regular vodka instead of flavored vodka and has a homemade fresh pear simple syrup. It's a festive way to celebrate at holiday parties, Thanksgiving tables, or get-togethers with friends; it's sure to be a hit!
Ingredients
Pear Simpe Syrup
- 2 medium Bartlett pear diced, ripe
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup water
Pear Martini
- 4 ounces vodka
- 2 ounces simple syrup pear flavor
- 1 ounce St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur
- queeze lemon juice optional, fresh
Instructions
- Pear Simple Syrup: Combine pears, sugar, and water in a saucepan. Bring to a simmer over medium to medium-high heat. Let simmer for 15-20 minutes, smashing the pears with the back of a spoon as they soften. Strain the syrup from the pear. Let cool before using, or store in an airtight container in the fridge if made beforehand.
- Martini: Add ice to a cocktail shaker or large jar/glass, then pour in vodka, pear syrup, and St. Germain. Cover and gently shake, or stir, just until combined and chilled. Strain into two martini or coupe glasses. Garnish with fresh pear slices as desired, and enjoy!
- If you'd like to counteract some sweetness, add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice or orange bitters. To amp up any pear flavor, add pear juice or use pear-flavored vodka.
Notes
- Syrup: Yields approximately 1/2 cup of syrup (8 cocktails). Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks; if you notice any spots, discard and make a new batch.
