Ingredients
- 1 pound dry pinto beans
- 6 cups water
- 1 small onion
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Rinse and drain the beans. Check for any dirt or foreign objects. Place all ingredients in the Instant Pot.
- Cover the Instant Pot and turn the valve to sealing. Cook on the Manual setting on high pressure for 50 minutes. When the timer goes off, immediately quickly release the pressure. Remove the bay leaf.
- If you want the liquid to be thicker, place the Instant Pot on saute mode and simmer until it reaches the consistency you want.
