Pork Chop Suey
This easy Chinese Pork Chop Suey recipe combines pork, veggies & a delicious Asian sauce, served over white rice, topped with crispy chow mein noodles!
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- ½ cup celery chopped
- 8 oz shiitake mushrooms sliced
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 tbsp ginger peeled & grated, fresh
- 2 scallions thinly sliced
- 1 lb ground pork
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes crushed
- 1 tsp Chinese five spice
- 1 cup bean sprout
- 2 tbsp oyster sauce
- 2 tbsp mirin cooking rice wine
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- ¾ cup chicken broth
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 4 cups rice cooked
- ½ cup Chow Mein noodles crispy
Instructions
- Add the sesame oil to a large skillet or wok over medium high heat.
- Add the celery, shiitake mushrooms, garlic, ginger and scallions, saute 1-2 minutes.
- Add the ground pork, red pepper flakes and Chinese five spice.
- Cook until the pork is no longer pink, 4-5 minutes.
- Add the bean sprouts, saute for 1-2 minutes.
- Combine the oyster sauce, mirin rice wine, soy sauce, chicken broth and cornstarch in a medium bowl, pour into the skillet, cook 4-5 minutes.
- Serve over cooked rice.
- Top with crispy chow mein noodles.
