Ingredients
- 1 cucumber
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ cup water
- 4 tablespoons white vinegar
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 3 tablespoons chopped fresh dill
Instructions
- Thinly slice the cucumber with a mandolin slicer.
- Place the cucumber slices in a colander and coat them with salt.
- Place a dish on the cucumber and add a weight over it (for example 4 lb / 2 kg of flour).
- Boil the water and stir in the vinegar and sugar. Stir until the sugar dissolves.
- Cool and add the dill.
- Remove the weight from the cucumber and squeeze it by hand.
- Transfer the cucumber slices to a large bowl or glass jar and pour over the mixture of water, vinegar, sugar and dill.
- Mix well.
- Refrigerate for 3 hours before serving.
