Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups (12 oz) non-dairy milk I used almond milk
  • 1 Tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder or cacao powder
  • 1 coop chocolate protein powder I used Truvani
  • 1 Tablespoon pure maple syrup optional
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • pinch salt sea salt

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Add all your ingredients to a blender (or blender bottle) and blend or shake until combined.
  2. Pour mixture into a small saucepan. Heat on low heat until just simmering, about 4-5 minutes.
  3. Pour into a mug or heat-safe glass, top with your favorite toppings and enjoy!

Notes

  • Non dairy milk: If you're not worried about keeping this recipe dairy-free, you can use regular milk. This will add even more protein!
  • Maple syrup: I love the sweetness the maple syrup adds here, but if you want a low sugar option (or if your protein powder is sweet enough on it's own) you can leave this out or use another sweetener.
