Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons ground ginger
  • 2 teaspoons ground cloves
  • 2 teaspoons ground nutmeg
  • 2 teaspoons ground allspice

  1. Measure out the spices.
  2. Mix the spices together.
  3. Store in a tightly-closed container, away from light and heat sources.

Notes

  • You can omit these spices that you don't have on hand, except cinnamon. You can also change the spice ratios to your liking.
  • Spice mix made from freshly grounded spices is much more flavorful. You can grind the spices using a pestle and mortar or a coffee grinder.
  • Pumpkin pie spice substitute: substitute with cinnamon and just add any spices, that are on the ingredients list, that you have on hand. You can also substitute it with gingerbread spice mix or apple pie spice.
