Purple Power Detox Smoothie
The Purple Power Detox Smoothie blends frozen blueberries, beet, banana, kale, and coconut milk with orange juice to create a thick, nutrient-rich smoothie with a vivid purple color. Optional ingredients like green apple, spinach, flax or chia seeds, and ice allow customization. The recipe relies on blending raw produce for a fresh, earthy, fruity flavor and is designed as a refreshing, fiber-rich drink that can support a detox regimen.
Ingredients
- 1 cup blueberries frozen
- ½ beet or 1 small/medium beet, large
- 1 banana fresh or frozen - add extra liquid if frozen, ripe
- 1/4-1/2 cup coconut milk unsweetened
- 1 cup kale leaves removed from stem, chopped
- 2 TBSP orange juice
OPTIONAL EXTRAS
- green apple (or orange sections for added fruit)
- orange juice used instead of coconut milk
- spinach used instead of kale
- Flax Seed or chia seeds, for an extra kick of fiber
- ice (if you're using all fresh ingredients)
Instructions
- Get Blending!
- Cook up some beets for a salad or side dish and then set a few slices aside for this smoothie!
- To make this bad boy, toss everything in the blender and let it do the work for you.
- Adjust the liquids and even add ice if needed, it'll just depend on your ratio of frozen ingredients to fresh.
- I always start with the recipe above and then just tweak as needed!
- While I don't typically sweeten my smoothies, feel free to sweeten with extra fruit, juice, or agave syrup if desired. Anything goes; empty that crisper and enjoy!
