Quiche Lorraine
Flavorful Quiche Lorraine is a classic French breakfast recipe. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or any meal of the day!
Ingredients
- 1 pie crust refrigerated
- 6 Bacon chopped, strips
- 1 onion minced, or shallot
- 4 egg large
- 1 ⅓ cups half and half
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- dash nutmeg optional
- 1 cup gruyere cheese finely shredded
- ⅓ cup Parmesan Cheese grated
Instructions
- Prepare and blind-bake the 1 refrigerated pie crust. Follow my post, it's very informative!
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Cook 6 strips bacon, in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook until crispy and golden brown, then set aside.
- Returning to the same skillet, add the minced 1 shallot, and sauté until tender.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together 4 large eggs, 1 ⅓ cups half and half, ½ teaspoon kosher salt, ¼ teaspoon pepper, and dash nutmeg,.
- To assemble the quiche, place the cooked bacon pieces, shallots, and shredded 1 cup Gruyere cheese, and ⅓ cup parmesan cheese, on top of the pie crust.
- Pour the egg mixture over the bacon, shallots, and cheese.
- Carefully place the pie in the preheated oven. Bake for 45 minutes or until the quiche is cooked through.
- Remove from the oven and allow the quiche to sit for 5 minutes before enjoying it!
