[Recipe] Batida de Granadillo (Giant Granadilla Milkshake)

This lovely tropical fruit makes an amazing Batida de Granadillo (Giant Granadilla Milkshake) that we Dominicans love and can never have enough of.

Ingredients

  • 1 granadillo giant granadilla
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar or equivalent sweetener
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 quarts evaporated milk [2 lt] (see notes)
  • 6 cup ice cubes

Instructions

1. Blend

  1. Peel and chop the granadillo. Combine all the ingredients in a heavy-duty blender until it's very smooth.
2. Serving
  1. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Nutritional information is calculated based on the nispero milkshake, and using sugar.
  • Use almond milk (or your preferrred substitute). I hear from our readers (I haven't tried it) that coconut milk is great for this purpose.
