Recipe for Short Ribs Crock Pot
Making braised beef short ribs in the slow cooker is so incredibly easy and delicious! This cooking method gives fall off the bone and flavorful results every time.

Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 8 beef short ribs see note
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon pepper
- 2 carrots diced
- 2 talks celery diced
- 1 onion diced
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 6 ounces tomato paste 1 small can
- 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- 2 cups beef broth
- 2 cup red wine or beef broth
- 2 bay leaves
- 2 teaspoons thyme
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 2 teaspoons parsley
Instructions
- Season short ribs liberally with salt and pepper.
- Sear over high heat in a skillet to brown the outsides. Set them in the slow cooker.
- Drain all but 2 tablespoons of fat from the pan. Add the vegetables and cook until softened.
- Add the wine and cook until reduced about 15 minutes.
- Combine the veggies and all the remaining ingredients into the slow cooker.
- Cook on low for up to 8 hours, or high up to 4 hours. When done, the beef should easily fall off the bone.
- Serve over mashed potatoes, polenta, or grits. Garnish with fresh thyme and parsley.

Notes
- You can use anywhere from 6-10 short ribs for this recipe. It just depends on how many people you'd like to serve and how big the short ribs are.
- Beef broth can be substituted for the red wine.
- The exact amount of broth you use may vary depending on the size and shape of your slow cooker or crockpot. The short ribs need to all be at least partially submerged in the liquid.
