Red velvet cookie dough is rolled in powdered sugar to form a beautiful red and white crinkle cookie. Topped with Hershey's hugs, these are the perfect Valentine's Day treat recipe!

Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups flour
- ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ¼ cup butter melted
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon Red food coloring
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon white vinegar
- ¼ cup powdered sugar
- 12 Hershey’s Hugs or Kisses
Instructions
- Pre-heat the oven to 325°F.
- Combine the flour, cocoa, salt and baking soda in a small mixing bowl and set aside.
- In a large bowl combine the melted butter, granulated sugar and brown sugar together. Add the egg and combine.
- Add the food coloring, vanilla and vinegar, and combine well.
- Add the dry ingredients and mix until a solid dough forms.
- After the dough is ready, roll a heaping tablespoon into a ball then roll in the powdered sugar and place on a baking stone or parchment lined baking sheet. Repeat to make all of the cookies.
- Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 12-14 minutes.
- After the cookies come out of the oven, immediately place a Hershey hug or kiss in the middle of the cookie and allow it to melt partially into the cookie.
