Ingredients
- ½ cup (113g) butter melted
- 1 tablespoon (15ml) Vegetable oil
- ½ cup (125g) sugar
- ½ cup (100g) brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- ½ tablespoon vanilla extract
- ½ cup (65g) all-purpose flour
- ½ cup (50g) cocoa powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 3 ½ ounces (100g) dark chocolate roughly chopped
To decorate:
- Red/pink M&Ms or Skittles
- Candy eyes
- pretzels
- 4-5 tablespoons dark chocolate melted
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F / 180 degrees C / gas mark 4 and line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper, making sure there is some up the sides of the pan.
- Add the melted butter, oil, and both sugars in a large mixing bowl and combine.
- Then add in the eggs and vanilla extract and beat until the mixture turns lighter in color.
- Add the flour, cocoa powder, and salt to the butter mixture and gently fold just until it's combined and the flour disappears. Don't overmix.
- Stir in 3/4 of the chopped chocolate, then pour brownie batter into the prepared pan, add the rest of the chocolate on top, and bake for 30-35 minutes.
- When done, let cool in the pan for 20-25 minutes, then gently remove using extra parchment paper on the sides.
- Once the brownies are room temperature, slice them into 9 pieces. Then, apply a little bit of melted chocolate to the pretzels and stick one on each side of the brownie, creating the ears. Use melted chocolate to stick on M&M’s or Skittles to create candy nose and eyes. Serve and Enjoy!

Notes
- Feel free to bake these a little longer if you like your brownies a little firmer.
- For the best results, don’t over-mix the batter.
- Measure your flour correctly. If you are using a measuring cup, use a knife to level the flour, or use your scales.
- Melt the chocolate just before using. To melt chocolate, add it to a microwave safe bowl and heat in 30-second intervals, making sure to stir after each time until fully melted.
- Make sure your ingredients are at room temperature before using them.
- If you prefer, you can start with boxed brownie mix. Because you’re brownies, your way.
- Storage - keep in an airtight container for 3-4 days.
