Roasted Frozen Broccoli

Ingredients

  • 16 ounces frozen broccoli florets
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar optional
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • pinch red pepper flakes optional
  • 1 small lemon halved

  1. Preheat your oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper and place it on the lower third of the oven.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the frozen broccoli florets with olive oil, optional sugar, kosher salt, black pepper, and optional red pepper flakes. Toss well.
  3. Spread the broccoli in a single layer on the preheated baking sheet. Do not overcrowd the pan.
  4. Bake on the lower third rack for 16 to 18 minutes, until tender and the edges are browned. For extra crispness, broil for 1 to 2 minutes.
  5. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the broccoli. Serve immediately.
