Ingredients

  • 2 salmon 1-inch thick, about 6 ounces each, steaks
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter unsalted
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice juice of 1/2 lemon, fresh
  • 1 teaspoon garlic minced

Instructions

  1. Season both sides of the salmon steaks with sea salt and black pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Place the salmon steaks in the skillet. Cook for about 4 minutes undisturbed on one side until golden and crisp. Flip the steaks, add butter and garlic to the skillet, and cook for an additional 4 minutes, basting the salmon with the melted butter.
  4. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the cooked salmon steaks and serve immediately.
