Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • 5 cloves garlic , minced
  • 2 bunches broccoli rabe , about 4 cups
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes crushed
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper coarse ground
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese grated

Instructions

  1. Add the olive oil to a large heavy skillet (that you have a lid for!) on medium heat.
  2. Add in the garlic, stir and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add in the chicken broth and broccoli rabe.
  4. Cover and steam for 3 minutes.
  5. Remove the cover, continue to stir and cook for 3 minutes until softened.
  6. Season with salt, crushed red pepper flakes and black pepper.
  7. Add in the lemon juice and lemon zest, stir and serve topped with grated Parmesan cheese.
