Sautéed Cabbage (Easy & Healthy)
Sautéed Cabbage is a straightforward dish featuring thinly sliced green cabbage cooked with sliced onion and minced garlic in ghee or butter and oil blend. The cabbage softens and caramelizes over medium-high heat, developing slightly sweet and savory flavors while retaining some bite. Seasoned with kosher salt and black pepper, this versatile side is easy to prepare and pairs well with many meals. The method highlights a gentle caramelization that enhances the natural cabbage sweetness without overwhelming it.
Ingredients

- 1 small yellow onion
- 2 garlic minced, cloves
- 2 tablespoon ghee or a blend of butter and olive oil
- salt to taste, Kosher salt

Notes
- Cool cooked cabbage completely before storing in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 to 4 days.
- Freezing is possible for up to 3 months, but reheated cabbage may be softer in texture.
- Use tongs to stir cabbage as it cooks due to the volume in the pan.
- If the pan is small, consider sautéing cabbage in batches to ensure even cooking.
