Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 lb mushrooms sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • thyme to taste
  • 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce 
  • ¼ cup white wine
  • chopped fresh thyme for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Melt butter and oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add sliced mushrooms to the skillet and brown for about 5 minutes on each side, or until browned and caramelized. Add garlic, and saute for 30 seconds, until fragrant. Season with salt, black pepper and thyme.
  3. Pour Worcestershire sauce and white wine and cook for 1 - 2 minutes.
  4. Serve warm and sprinkle with fresh thyme

Notes

  • Slice the mushrooms a evenly as possible so that they cook through evenly.
  • The easiest and best way to clean mushrooms is by quickly rinsing them in a colander and wiping them down with a damp paper towel to remove any dirt.
