Sesame Ginger Green Beans

A 10-minute side dish recipe, green beans are steamed until crisp-tender then tossed in a fragrant sesame ginger vinaigrette.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups green beans (stems trimmed about 1 pound)
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons rice wine vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons toasted sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger root
  • 1 clove garlic (grated)
  • chili garlic paste (optional)
  • toasted almond slices (optional garnish)

Instructions

  1. Place a steamer basket inside a large sauce pot and fill with 3 inches of water. Bring to a boil.
  2. Add green beans to the pot and cover with lid. Steam until green beans are bright green and crisp-tender, about 7-9 minutes; remove from heat.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, sesame oil, ginger, garlic and chili paste (if using). Add steamed green beans to the bowl and toss to coat. Serve with toasted almond slices.
