Ingredients

  • 2 cups plain bread crumbs
  • 2 Tablespoons canola oil
  • 1 Tablespoon paprika
  • 1 Tablespoon celery salt
  • 1/2 Tablespoon ground pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 6 boneless pork chops

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Preheat oven to 425°F. Grease a sheet pan with nonstick spray.
  2. Combine the bread crumbs, oil, and all the spices in a large ziplock bag and shake to combine.
  3. Place one pork chop into the ziplock bag and seal the bag tightly. Shake the bag to ensure the pork chop is well coated. Transfer the pork chop to the sheet pan and repeat this with the remaining pork chops.
  4. Bake for 20-25 minutes until the pork reaches an internal temperature of 145°F.

Notes

  • Pat your pork chops dry with paper towels. Removing excess moisture from the outside of the pork before adding the seasoning and coatings will help the chops to cook up nice and crispy.
  • Use a thermometer to check the temperature of your shake and bake pork chops. The FDA recommends cooking pork chops to 145 degrees. Using a thermometer to check the temperature is much better than slicing into it to check for doneness, because doing so lets out all that juicy goodness!
  • For an extra crunch, you can add a small amount of crushed cornflakes or panko breadcrumbs to the mixture. Just keep in mind that this will lend a different texture than traditional shake and bake pork chops.
  • Don't overcrowd the baking sheet. Make sure to leave some space between the pork chops so that they can cook evenly.
  • Let the pork chops rest for a few minutes before serving to allow the juices to redistribute and keep the meat tender.
