Shredded Beef in the Crock Pot Recipe

Retro Crockpot Roast Beef - This classic recipe for juicy, tender and tangy shredded beef is easy to make in the slow cooker with just a few simple ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 3 ½ - 4 pounds boneless beef chuck roast in 1 or 2 pieces
  • 1 packet onion soup & dip mix
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1 cup Coca-Cola or a Mini Coke can

Instructions

  1. Place the chuck roast in the bottom on a large 6+ quart slow cooker.
  2. Add the onion soup packet to the crock. Then place the ketchup over the beef and pour in the Coke.
  3. Cover and slow cooker on LOW for 9-11 hours or on HIGH for 5-7 hours.
  4. Use two forks to shred the beef into the sauce. Remove any large chunks of fat if desired. Cover and keep warm until ready to serve.

  • If the soup packet you buy is gluten free, the entire recipe is as well.
