- 1/8 teaspoon white pepper
- 1 teaspoon MSG (optional)
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon onion salt
- 1/4 cup Salad oil
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tablespoon wine vinegar
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 ounces blue cheese
Instructions
- Mix all the spices with the salad oil and water.
- Blend in the vinegar, mayonnaise, and sour cream.
- Mash the blue cheese and stir into the dressing.

Notes
- For the most complex flavor, use a good quality blue cheese like Danish blue, Roquefort, or Gorgonzola. The MSG is completely optional—while it enhances the umami quality of the dressing, you'll still get excellent results without it. If you prefer a thinner consistency, simply add 1-2 additional tablespoons of water. For those who enjoy a more pronounced cheese flavor, increase the blue cheese to 3 ounces. The dressing actually improves after sitting overnight in the refrigerator, as this allows the blue cheese flavor to fully permeate the mixture.
