Slow Cooker Chicken Drumsticks
Slow Cooker Chicken Drumsticks are cooked tenderly in a sauce made from honey, soy sauce, ketchup, and garlic, producing a sweet-savory glaze. The slow cooking makes the meat fall-off-the-bone tender, while the marinade infuses flavor throughout. This dish is ideal for hands-off cooking and pairs well with rice or vegetables.
Ingredients
- 3 pounds chicken drumstick about 12 drumsticks
- ½ cup honey
- ½ cup soy sauce
- ½ cup ketchup
- 1 clove garlic minced finely or 1 teaspoon minced garlic
Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, ketchup and garlic.
- Spray the slow cooker with a spray cooking oil. Place the chicken drumsticks inside the bottom of the slow cooker, stacking the chicken if necessary.
- Pour the sauce over the chicken drumsticks.
- Cook the chicken drumsticks on high for 4 hours (or low for 6 hours). Serve and enjoy!
Notes
- Cook on high for 4 hours or low for 6 hours until chicken reaches 160°F for safe consumption; 170-175°F yields more tender meat.
- Arrange chicken in a single layer if possible for even saucing; if stacked, toss with sauce before serving.
- Chicken thighs or legs can substitute drumsticks; wings cook faster and require less time.
- Chicken can be frozen in the sauce for later use but should be fully thawed before cooking in the slow cooker.
