Ingredients

  • 1 whole chicken 4-5 pounds , fully defrosted
  • 6 cloves garlic , minced
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon water

Instructions

  1. Add all the ingredients to a large ziplock bag or in a large bowl and marinate overnight (or a minimum of 1 hour).
  2. Using heavy-duty aluminum foil, cut two 18-inch pieces.
  3. Roll each piece the long way, loosely, so the foil tube is as long as possible, then curve it like an oven heating coil, like a flattened S.
  4. Place the chicken on top of the foil, breast side down, and add any remaining marinade over the chicken.
  5. Cook on low for 6 hours.
  6. Remove chicken from the slow cooker gently.
  7. Add leftover liquid to a saucepan.
  8. Mix cornstarch and water until well combined then pour into saucepan and boil until glaze is thickened, stirring well.
  9. Pour glaze over chicken to serve.
