Ingredients
Slow Cook:
- 2 pounds sweet potatoes peeled and cut into 2-inch pieces
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2/3 cup heavy cream more if needed
- 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
Cinnamon Sugar Walnut Topping:
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
- 1 cup walnuts chopped
Instructions
Slow Cook:
- Add peeled and chopped sweet potatoes to the slow cooker.
- Add water, top with butter and brown sugar. Cover and cook on high for 2-3 hours or on low for 4-6 hours.
- Add all the remaining ingredients and stir to combine.
- Mix with an electric hand mixer or a masher until smooth.

Cinnamon Sugar Walnut Topping:
- Place a small skillet over medium heat. Add butter and melt.
- Add brown sugar, cinnamon, chopped walnuts, and stir to combine.
- Serve warm and top of mashed sweet potatoes.
