Slow-Cooker Rice
I like to make Slow-Cooker Rice when I know I'll be using multiple stove burners at once, so it’s the one thing I don’t have to keep my eye on!
Ingredients
- 2 cups long-grain white rice
- 1 tablespoon butter optional, or cooking oil
- 4 cups water
- 3/4 teaspoon salt plus more to taste
Instructions
- Wash the rice in a fine-mesh sieve with cold water until the water runs clear.
- Coat the bottom and sides of the slow cooker with butter or cooking oil to prevent sticking.
- Place the rinsed rice into the slow cooker. Add the water and salt, then stir to combine.
- Cover and cook on high for 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hours, or until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed.
- Fluff the rice with a fork and serve warm.
