Ingredients
- 5 pounds pork shoulder butt roast
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 3 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon pepper
- 2 teaspoons crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon ground mustard
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 large quartered onion
- ¾ cup cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
Instructions
- In a small bowl mix together 3 tablespoons brown sugar, 3 teaspoons salt, 1 teaspoon paprika, ½ teaspoon pepper, 2 teaspoons crushed red pepper flakes, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon ground mustard, and 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper. Rub all over pork the seasoning mixture generously all over 5 pounds pork shoulder butt roast.
- Add pork to the slow cooker. Add 1 large quartered onion along the sides. Add ¾ cup cider vinegar, 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, and 1 tablespoon granulated sugar.
- Cook on LOW for 12 hours. Shred with two forks. Serve on buns with creamy coleslaw, if desired.
