Slow Cooker Teriyaki Chicken

This Slow Cooker Teriyaki Chicken is an easy crockpot dinner that is a sweet and tangy chicken that is great served over rice.

Ingredients

  • 2 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 2 teaspoons garlic minced
  • 2 2 teaspoons fresh ginger minced
  • 1/4 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 1/4 cup cold water
  • 2 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • optional sesame seeds and green onions to garnish

  1. Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of a slow cooker.
  2. In a small bowl, stir together the garlic, ginger, honey, brown sugar, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Pour over the chicken.
  3. Cook on high for 3-4 hours or low 6-7 hours.
  4. Remove chicken from the slow cooker and shred with two forks.
  5. Pour the sauce in the slow cooker through a strainer into a sauce pan. Bring mixture to a simmer over medium heat.
  6. In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with the water. Pour mixture into the sauce pan. Stir and bring to a boil for a few minutes to thicken.
  7. Pour sauce over chicken and toss to coat. I like to keep the mixture in the crockpot on warm. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions when serving.
