Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 /2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup butter softened, unsalted
  • 2 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 /2 teaspoon salt
ROLLING SUGAR:
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In large bowl, beat 1 1/2 cups sugar and the butter until light and fluffy. Add the eggs and vanilla with electric mixer on medium speed until well mixed. Stir in flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt.
  2. In small bowl, mix 3 tablespoons sugar and the cinnamon. Shape dough into 1 1/2-inch balls and roll in cinnamon-sugar mixture; place about 2 inches apart on prepared cookie sheets.
  3. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until set. Do not overbake! Cool 2 minutes on the pan then remove from cookie sheets. Store in an airtight container.
