Southern Chicken Salad Recipe
Creamy, tangy, and packed with protein, Southern Chicken Salad never goes out of style.
Ingredients
- 1 pound chicken breast
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon celery salt
- 1/2 cup celery finely diced
- 1/4 cup onion finely diced
- 3 egg chopped, hard-boiled
- 1 tablespoon sweet relish
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon parsley dried
- salt to taste
- black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F. Brush the chicken lightly with vegetable oil and season with the garlic powder and celery salt.
- Bake the seasoned chicken in the preheated oven for 25 minutes, or until fully cooked. Allow to cool, then chop into small pieces.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the chicken, celery, onion, hard-boiled eggs, and sweet relish. Add the mayonnaise and dried parsley. Mix until well combined. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour to blend the flavors. Serve chilled.
