Spicy mango margaritas
Spicy mango margaritas combine ripe mango pulp with tangy lime juice and a kick of hot pepper-infused tequila. This blended cocktail balances sweetness from sugar and orange liqueur with refreshing citrus and a spicy edge. Rimmed with chili-laced salt, the drink offers a flavorful contrast to the smooth mango base, making it a vibrant choice for outdoor gatherings or a lively evening.
Ingredients
- 8 ounces Mango from about 2 mangoes, pulp or chunks
- ½ cup of lime juice from 4-5 limes
- ½ cup water cold
- ½ cup sugar adjust to taste
- 8-12 ounces tequila hot pepper infused, spicy, store bought or homemade, 1 to 1 ½ cups, add more or less based on your preference
- ¼ to ½ cup of orange liqueur Cointreau, Triple Sec, Grand Marnier, adjust to taste
- ice
To garnish:
- tajin or lime chili salt, for decorating rims
- lime slices
- Serrano pepper or jalapeño hot peppers, sliced
Instructions
- Combine the mango, lime juice, water, sugar, spicy tequila, orange liqueur, and some ice in a blender.
- Blend until you have a smooth drink, strain if desired. Taste and adjust the amount of sugar and/or alcohol to taste.
- Place a few tablespoons of Tajin or lime chili salt mix on a small flat plate, moisten the rims of the cocktail glasses with a slice of lime, turn the glass upside down and then gently dip the rim and swirl it around in the Tajin mix until the rim is coated.
- Pour the spicy mango margaritas into the cocktail glasses and serve immediately.
