Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup tamarind paste
  • 1 2/3 cups water
  • 1 3/4 cups brown sugar
  • 2/3 cup pickled garlic juice
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups tomatoes sliced
  • dried chili flakes to taste

Instructions

  1. Cut tomatoes into small pieces to speed up the cooking time later.
  2. Heat water in a large wok or skillet over medium heat. Once boiling, add sugar and stir until dissolved.
  3. Add pickled garlic juice, salt, tamarind paste, and chopped tomatoes to the pan. Simmer the mixture for about 30 minutes.
  4. Add dried chilies, adjusting the amount to your preferred spice level.
  5. Let the sauce boil for an additional 5 minutes. Garnish with coriander leaves and whole dried chilies. Enjoy!
