Steak Seasoning Recipe
This steak seasoning blend combines coarse sea salt, black peppercorns, paprika, garlic and onion granules, thyme, rosemary, brown sugar, celery seed, and coriander seeds to create a versatile mix for enhancing the flavor of steaks. The spices are ground together to a finer but still somewhat textured consistency, allowing for even distribution and a harmonious balance of savory, herbal, and slightly sweet notes on the meat. Making this seasoning ahead supports convenience and consistent taste when grilling or pan-searing steak cuts.
Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons sea salt coarse
- 2 tablespoons black peppercorns whole
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- 1 tablespoon garlic granules
- 1 tablespoon onion granules
- 1 tablespoon thyme dry
- 1 tablespoon rosemary dried
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 ½ teaspoons celery seed
- 1 ½ teaspoons coriander seeds
Instructions

- Store in an airtight container in a cool, dark spot for up to six months to maintain freshness.
- Glass jars with airtight lids work well for storage.
- Optional: add 1 teaspoon each of ground cumin, ground mustard, or red pepper flakes to customize the blend.
- For a finer texture, substitute garlic and onion granules with their powdered forms.
