Strawberry Banana Steel Cut Oats with Chia Seeds

A hearty and satisfying bowl of steel cut oats are sweetened naturally with juicy strawberries and ripe bananas.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup steel cut oats
  • 4 cups water
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • ¼ cup flax seed meal
  • ¼ cup chia seeds
  • ¼ cup walnuts (chopped)
  • 2 banana sliced
  • 2 cups strawberries (sliced)

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Bring water, salt and cinnamon to a boil then stir in steel cut oats. Reduce heat and simmer until liquid is absorbed, about 15 minutes.
  2. Five minutes prior to the end of cooking time, stir in flax seed meal, chia seeds, chopped walnuts, banana and strawberry slices.
  3. Cook until liquid is absorbed then divide evenly between four bowls to serve.

Notes

  • This dish is naturally dairy free and vegan. To make it gluten free be sure to use GF oats.
