Strawberry Buttercream Frosting

Strawberry Buttercream Frosting (No Food Coloring!) is a fluffy, sweet dessert topping with natural fruit flavor from strawberry powder.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup freeze dried strawberry powder , about 1 cup pieces
  • 1 cup butter softened, unsalted
  • 5 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3-4 tablespoons heavy cream

Instructions

  1. If you are starting with freeze dried strawberry pieces, pulse them in a food processor until they are a fine powder.
  2. To your stand mixer on low speed cream the butter and the freeze dried strawberry powder then start adding in the powdered sugar in 1/2 cup increments until fully combined then raise the speed to medium-high for 1 additional minute.
  3. Add in the vanilla and heavy cream and beat until light and fluffy for 1 minute.
  4. Add frosting to piping bag and frost your cooled cupcakes.
