Strawberry Donuts

These strawberry donuts are delicious! We love making homemade donuts on weekend and holidays when we have time in the mornings.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted at room temp.
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs room temp
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries hull removed and diced
  • 7 drops Red food coloring optional
Glaze:
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
  2. Spray your donut pans with a non-stick baking spray.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, add together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir to combine and set aside.
  4. In a separate bowl, add the milk, oil, sugar, egg, butter, and vanilla. Stir until fully combined.
  5. Add your dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and then stir in food coloring (optional).
  6. Fold in your strawberries and then spoon batter into donut pan (or use a piping bag).
  7. Bake for 9-10 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  8. Let cool 10 minutes.
Glaze:
  1. In a medium sized mixing bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and milk.
  2. Place a piece of foil under the wire rack with the donuts to catch any glaze.
  3. Pour your glaze from the bowl onto the donuts.
