Ingredients

  • 1 oz freeze dried strawberries
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 3 Tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. In a food processor, pulse freeze dried strawberries until fine crumbs. Set aside.
  2. In a large mixing bowl with whisk attachment, beat butter for 2-3 minutes until pale in color (scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed).
  3. Add in powdered sugar, milk, vanilla, and strawberry crumbs.
  4. Beat an additional 2-3 minutes until well blended, and fluffy. Add in more milk if needed to achieve the consistency you want.

Notes

  • Enough frosting to cover a 2-layer cake or 24 cupcakes.
  • Beat butter first. Before adding the powdered sugar, beat the butter on its own until pale and fluffy. This will help the frosting get fluffier and creamier.
  • Add milk a little at a time. This way you can adjust the frosting to your desired consistency. I like mine spreadable but still nice and thick!
  • Storing. If not using right away, store this strawberry frosting in an airtight container in the fridge.
