Strawberry Galette Recipe

Strawberry Galette is a delicious and fancy looking dessert that is actually really simple to make. Strawberries, pie crust, and sugar is all you need!

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces strawberries sliced
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 pie crust see note for homemade recipe
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon water
  • 2 tablespoons caster sugar see note

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375ºF.
  2. In a glass mixing bowl, combine the strawberries, flour, lemon juice, and sugar.
  3. Place the pie crust on a lined baking sheet.
  4. Pour the strawberry filling into the center of the pie crust, leaving about 3 inches around the edge of the pie crust.
  5. Fold the pie crust around the filling, tuck it in as you fold, as demonstrated in the linked video.
  6. Combine the egg and the water in a small bowl.
  7. Brush the top of the pie crust with the egg wash.
  8. Sprinkle with caster sugar.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the pie crust is golden brown.

  • Caster sugar is a large crystal sugar, sometimes called turbinado sugar or sugar in the raw.
